In order to describe specific features of food products, we use tags consisting of two items, a property and a value. Both the property and the value are free format text fields, but often represent numeric or other structured items. Conventions are agreed on the meaning and use of properties and their values, which are captured on this wiki.

Open Food Facts allows anyone to reuse existing properties or create new properties (see the Folksonomy Engine project).

  • must have its dedicated page beginning by /Folksonomy/Property/
  • must be included into the category "Property" (the list below is just a view of this category)
