Hello,

The association's Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday July 1st 2026 from 6pm to 9pm (CET), via videoconference and mostly in English (with subtitles in English or French), at the following link: https://link.openfoodfacts.org/2026-AG

The General Meeting is a key event in the project. Open Food Facts is an open project carried out by tens of thousands of volunteers worldwide. Most of our volunteers are not members of the association, but the latter enables us to formalize the project, give it a legal existence and guarantee its democratically discussed values. The General Assembly covers three main objectives:

  • discuss actions taken since the last General Meeting (vote on the 2025 moral report and the association's financial report)
  • propose and discuss changes to the project and its governance
  • elect those who will represent the project during the year and make operational decisions until the next General Meeting

We thank you in advance for your participation!

Details of how to take part are given below.

Open Food Facts membership

If you wish to take part in voting, you can join the association, or if you are already a member, you must be up to date with your membership fees by going through the membership procedure again.

A useful reminder: for French residents, membership and any additional donation entitle you to a 66% tax reduction on your income tax.

For example: if I donate €20 in addition to the €10 membership fee, I get a 66% reduction of €30, i.e. €19.80: the €30 for Open Food Facts costs me €10.20.

Agenda

Proposed motions

Motion 1 - Modification of the statutes to allow the board of directors to appoint up to 2 additional unelected members (proposed by Stéphane Gigandet)

This motion changes the statutes of the association to enable the board of directors to appoint up to 2 additional unelected members to the board of directors, in order to give the board more flexibility to include people with specific skills or expertise needed for the functioning of the association.

In Article 13 of the current statutes:

- Change "The association is managed by a board of 5 to 10 members." to "The association is managed by a board of 5 to 10 elected members, and up to 2 unelected members appointed by the board of directors."

- Change "Board members are elected for a three-year term" to "Elected board members are elected for a three-year term"

- Add a new sentence "The unelected members appointed by the board of directors serve for a term determined by the board and can be revoked at any time by the board of directors."
